The War & Treaty Expand Must-See 2023 Tour

The country soul of The War and Treaty is something everyone should behold live. Their new album Lover’s Game produced by Dave Cobb, and monster songs like “Yesterday’s Burn,” “Dumb Luck,” and the title track are excellent enough. As time has gone on, this husband and wife duo has only become better and better at drilling down to the very nugget of what makes them great, and showcasing it.

But to really behold the power behind what The War and Treaty is all about, you have to see them in the flesh. Sure, this is not a 100% country act. There is a lot of Gospel and soul in their sound. But the power and sincerity in their music crosses genre appeal, and tingles the spine and extremities. Speak to anyone who’s seen them, and they will attest to this.

The War and Treaty recently added dates to their 2023 tour, including at comparatively intimate venues like Antone’s in Austin and Sam’s Burger Joint in San Antonio. It might be the last time folks get to see them in such places since they’re now signed to UMG Nashville, playing big festivals, and opening shows for Chris Stapleton.

Originally formed in Michigan in 2014 as Trotter and Blount, Michael Trotter was an Iraqi War veteran, and Tanya Blount was a long-time solo performer and actress. Combining forces, they’ve become something even greater than the sum of their parts, endearing themselves to audiences across the roots music world.
