Zach Bryan Arrested for Obstruction of Investigation

This story is developing.

Zach Bryan was arrested Thursday evening, September 7th, in the town of Vinita, Oklahoma in the northeast portion of the state, and charged with “obstruction of investigation.” Vinita is about an hour northeast of Tulsa, roughly 40 miles from Bryan’s hometown of Oologah, and near the part of Oklahoma where Bryan is believed to live.

The arrest was made by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Bryan was taken into custody. According to the online record, Bryan was booked into the Craig County Jail at 6:42 PM, and he was later released on bond.

Zach Bryan has released a statement at 9:30 Central saying,

“Today I had an incident with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Emotions got the best of me and I was out of line in the things I said. I support law enforcement as much as anyone can, I was just frustrated in the moment, it was unlike me and I apologize. They brought me to jail, and there is a mug shot of me floating around. Prayers we can all move on from this and prayers people know I’m just trying the best I can, I love you guys and I am truly sorry to the officers.”

Saving Country Music has reached out to the Craig County Sheriff’s Office to get more details, but they are declining to comment or give further information about the arrest due to the pending investigation. Saving Country Music has also reached out to both Zach Bryan’s manager, as well as his publicist/label, and has not heard back at the time of this post.

In Oklahoma, obstruction of investigation is a misdemeanor, and carries a maximum sentence of one year and/or a fine of $500. The crime is defined as, “Any person who willfully delays or obstructs any public officer in the discharge or attempt to discharge any duty of his or her office.”

Zach Bryan posted earlier in the day on Instagram with his dog Jack, “On the road again, gonna go see the birds win.” Bryan is a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Earlier on Thursday, Zach Bryan was revealed as a nominee for the CMA New Artist of the Year. He currently hols the #1 song in America with “I Remember Everything” featuring Kacey Musgraves, as well as the #1 album with his self-titled effort released on August 25th.
