Charley Crockett Announces Spring ’22 Tour w/ Vincent Neil Emerson
Reigning Saving Country Music Artist of the Year Charley Crockett continues to be the hardest working man in country, pumping out records at a two-per-year clip (don’t be surprised if there’s two more in 2022), and he’s just announced a slew of new tour dates leading up to a big appearance at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California in late April.
Spanning from coast to coast (sorry Northeast), Crockett has dubbed it the Jukebox Charley Tour, and it will see him hit all kinds of spots with fellow Texan Vincent Neil Emerson opening all of the shows. It’s been mentioned before with Charley and it’s worth underscoring again: each time he rolls through town, the venues get bigger and bigger, and tickets get harder to find. So catch him in an intimate venue while you can.
Charley Crockket had a monster 2021. Along with releasing a tribute to James Hand called 10 For Slim, and a new original record Music City USA, he also was part of the American Currents exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame, and made his debut on Austin City Limits.
Crockett looks to keep that momentum going into 2022 while not looking for any handouts or shortcuts, but earning every bit of his recognition by the sweat of his brow, and hustling more than anyone else.

Was All excited that Charley plans to be in Bloomington – then thought, hmmm.
Sure enough, checked the Bluebird’s site.
They are requiring neg. covid, blah, blah.
Was going to drive over Friday morning, grab a handful of ticlets, see who all here wanted to go. Mail tickets to whomever.
Say, didn’t 30A fest just end, this weekend? Sure did.
Now going to have to think whether want to head to Tampa to see Charley (if can get a ticket)
No matter, he should have no problem selling out Bloomington.

Surely you aren’t complaining about a private company’s business. Whatever side you fall on, some tours are continuing and some tours are cancelling. No need to be so dramatic about your opinion being “correct.”
Apologize if you weren’t trying to be political but I just doubt Charley Crockett cares what any of us think.

Not getting in a COVID discussion here. Any further comments on COVID will be deleted.
Once again I ask folks not to veer into divisive subjects.

Same deal at Castle Theater in the neighboring Bloomington. Disappointed but hopefully can catch him again another time somewhere.

I wish Whitey Morgan put albums out like him. I just can’t listen to Charley’s speech impediment singing, even though the music is stone cold county

I think his voice is what makes it! It has such a throwback sound to it. I think if CC sang with any other voice he wouldn’t be so unique and nostalgic.

I play old time music and I think my favorite kind of country is old school honky tonk. I can guarantee you that nobody had that fucking speech impediment in those days on purpose. There are several artists doing it now and it just comes off as if they’re making fun of the music.

I don’t think CC is making fun of the music, do you?

Utah/Salt Lake seems to be getting skipped more than normal so far for 2022. Pretty disappointed.

I’ll finally get to see him. We had tickets for Athens, GA in August, but had to cancel. The Tampa Theatre is a gorgeous 1926 movie palace. One of our favorite places for a show. Perfect birthday gift for my wife.

Man, living in Bend, Or. is just the best if you dig the kind of music you regularly see on this site.
In the past year I’ve seen Sierra Ferrell (who was in the area twice over the past summer), Shakey Graves, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, The Wood Brothers, Charlie Parr, Margo Cilker (on a quick trip to Seattle), Trampled By Turtles, Keb Mo, and Jesse Daniel. Reckless Kelly played our county fair this summer (word is that they lived in Bend when they met up and formed the band before moving to Tx).
Going to be seeing Possessed By Paul James in a couple of weeks, Sarah Shook in a couple of months, Corb Lund as well. And now Charley Crockett & VN-fuckin-E here soon as well. Goddamn.
Colter Wall and Summer Dean were going to be here in the fall until it got canceled. Bob Dylan was going to be here until COVID shut his tour down in 2020. Whitey Morgan was just here a couple of weeks back. Seen Hayes Carll comes through here a couple of times the past few years.
We are just up the road from both the Portland Pickathon and the Sisters Folk Festival, which means in the summer we catch a lot of acts on their way to-or-from those festivals, or along with their general tours.
Oh, and Willie has been here a handful of times as well, though I can’t say I’ve personally had the pleasure. But no joke, if you love live music- the little bars, breweries, and music venues that are literally all over town have music going nearly every night of the week. Even our amphitheater is small, so you’re always in some great, intimate listening environment or another. Plenty of good pickers in town to play with as well.
In conclusion, Bend is the shit and a great place to be a country music fan.

Here here. It’s the new Boise, Idaho, where it sits in a good confluence for tour routing where you otherwise wouldn’t have a place to play, and a population that likes to support good music. Good for them.

Trig,
To give credit where credit is due, I must have found out about 85% of those shows/ tours I’ve attended or am attending from this here site.
In some cases, I found out about the artist here and saw they were going to be in the area and my first exposure to them really was being able to see them live. That was definitely the case with Sierra Ferrell, Paul James, and Jesse Daniel. Your review of Margo Cilker’s album prompted my girlfriend and I to make a last-minute trip to Seattle for her album release show at The Tractor Tavern a few weeks back and it was fucking awesome. We are heading back there again for a Sierra Ferrell / Nick Shoulders joint affair and I am stoked.
Don’t worry about the assholes in comments whose identities seem to revolve around the silly little user names that they comment under. This site has singularly made it possible for me to learn about and support more and new artists locally than any other source that I know of or follow. I am positive I am not alone in this sentiment.
Simply, thanks for the work you do for the music and for the artists and for the fans.

This is my personal opinion, I really dig the sound of his music, and I want to like him but his vocals are just boring to me.

Well that’s disappointing. No Oklahoma or Texas dates. The only show in Kansas is in Lawrence…. gross. Guess I’ll have to wait until next time. I saw him for the first time last year and it was a great show.

I wish Crockett was coming around my area, I would definitely try to go. On the flip side, Tyler Childers is coming but haven’t really listened to him. Jaimy Johnson is also coming which I like but he’s with Randy Hauser and I’m not much of a fan of his.

Not Childers, I had him in my head from other article, Cody Jinks is it. Might listen to him just to see if he has much I would like. Would be a good date night.
