Country, Christian, classic pop, and multi Grammy award-winning singer and performer B.J. Thomas has passed away. The 78-year-old died of lung Cancer on Saturday, May 29th at his home in Arlington, Texas. Thomas had announced the diagnosis in late March, and had been battling the disease.
Sad news out of Texas Tuesday evening (3-23) as it’s been revealed that country, Christian, and classic pop artist B.J. Thomas has been diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer. The five-time Grammy winner is known for the song, “(Hey Won’t You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song.”
Mac Davis is being remembered by many as a “country star,” but that tells only part of the story. In truth, the Lubbock, TX native’s musical trek spent just as much time, if not more weaving its way through the pop and rock realm, and it’s in that capacity where he may have reached his highest peaks.
