Wheeler Walker Jr. Is Back with New Music, Greatest Hits Album
It was a little over a year ago that the foul-mouthed country act perpetrated by comedian Ben Hoffman known as Wheeler Walker Jr. went MIA after an internet brushup. Walker Jr. found himself on the wrong side of the contentious issue involving kids from the Covington Catholic High School in Kentucky who were initially accused of accosting an older Native American gentlemen, when further video footage revealed a deeper story.
Wheeler Walker Jr. said to his fans, “If you know this little shit, punch him in the nuts and send me the video of it and I’ll send you all my albums on vinyl, autographed.” The tweet from Wheeler Walker Jr. and a repost on Instagram immediately went viral, but also stimulated a strong backlash from people concerned that Wheeler Walker Jr. was encouraging violence against a minor. The post on Instagram was removed by the social media company after complaints, Walker Jr. claimed in a subsequent post that he was not backing down, but later the second Instagram post was also removed, and then his accounts appeared to be deleted entirely.
Now Wheeler Walker Jr. is back, first re-emerging on March 23rd singing a COVID-19 song posted to YouTube, and now he’s released one of two promised new tracks called “Go Big or Go Home” that he says will be part of an upcoming Greatest Hits compilation scheduled to be released on May 1st.
“I’ve already made some of the greatest country albums of all time. So I started thinking… what if I put all the best stuff on one album? Wouldn’t that be the greatest country album of all time? So I did and it is,” Wheeler Walker Jr. says. In typical Wheeler Walker Jr. style, the album is titled Fuck You Bitch: All Time Greatest Hits.
Wheeler Walker Jr. released three albums between 2016 and 2018, which is apparently enough to justify a Greatest Hits collection. The track list is below, but doesn’t include the new songs.
- 1. Fuck You Bitch (Remastered 2020)
- 2. Puss In Boots (Remastered 2020)
- 3. I Like Smokin’ Pot (A Lot) (Remastered 2020)
- 4. Beer, Weed, Cooches (Remastered 2020)
- 5. Finger Up My Butt (Remastered 2020)
- 6. Save Some Titty Milk For Me (Remastered 2020)
- 7. Drop ‘Em Out (Remastered 2020)
- 8. Summers In Kentucky (Remastered 2020)
- 9. Rich Sumbitch (Remastered 2020)
- 10. Ain’t Got Enough Dick To Go Around (Remastered 2020)
- 11. Sit On My Face (Remastered 2020)

Most conservatives don’t take issue with musicians and artists being liberal…because most are. However offering a bounty for physical violence against minors shouldn’t be part of any one’s political beliefs.

I guess you were sleeping in a cave when the Dixie Chicks said they didn’t like the president

You are correct in your Dixie chicks point, however that was 16+ years ago. That whole Neo-republican pro war stance isn’t a mainstay in the party today.

Although I am surprised that you think offering a bounty for violence against a minor is ok just because that kid was a republican. Based on your response that’s what your view seems to be Shouldn’t it be in bipartisan agreement that this is wrong?

Sounds great based on the song titles.
If you’re a 13 year-old boy.

I would like to speak to him about putting bounties on 16 year old boys. Maybe he will tour in support of this album. It’s disgraceful you are covering this piece of garbage.

David (and whomever else),
I appreciate your concern. The first two paragraphs of this article explain in detail what happened with Wheeler Walker Jr., along with a bolded link where people can read more if they choose. It was news what he said, it was news that he disappeared, and it’s now news that he has re-emerged. I am not promoting or supporting anything, I’m simply giving people information, including about the controversy that led to him disappearing. I purposely did not include a pre-order link here, nor did I embed a song as is customary when announcing records. It’s simply news that I felt was important to being to the public. People can choose to take it however they wish.

Your article’s summation of the Covington event was fair. However it’s inexcusable with Wheeler that once the truth came to light, he took the coward’s way out. …deleting all social media, never offering an apology, and coming back a year later like nothing happened. If his bravado fell flat for some before, it sure as hell does now.

He comes back with a song (COVID-19 Blues) that thousands of middle aged men already wrote? Ok Boomer.

This doesn’t even make sense to me. You’d either have the albums or not. It’s not like you just bought the singles released over the years. And leaving “Fuckin’ it Up” off here is just unfathomable.

The thing about jokes, even a really good joke, is you need to know when to stop. Otherwise, it just gets old. Ben Hoffman just can’t seem to figure out that the Wheeler Walker act isn’t funny anymore.

If the tables were turned, and a white low brow comedian encouraged violent assault against a jewish teen, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. Hoffman’s career as a public performer should be ended. However since the victim of his vile threats was white, it’s business as usual. What a shameful situation…

Even parody acts have to prove their woke bona fides.
Jason Isbell feels compelled to tell me what kind of weapon I “don’t need” to own, so why not have a Jew posing as a redneck encouraging violence against children who go to Catholic school?

Yeah, this dude is lame and his inability to know when to quit makes his decent stuff less funny. I forgive a lot, but what he did to that young kid is unforgivable. He also doesn’t care, or understand, that 99% of his fan base are young, Bro-macho guys that aren’t “in” on the joke. He is literally living off the people that he hates. No different than kids supporting rappers who tell Them how lame they are for being poor. Guy is a stupid asshole.

Wheeler Walker Jr. is a pussy. He never apologized for being 100% in the wrong about encouraging violence against a minor. For all of his supposed bravado, he couldn’t locate his balls to sack up and offer an apology…he just ran away and came back like no one would notice. Well many of us noticed.

“FUB” is still funny and on the nose as a one-off.
He could have made his point with that single alone, and walked away. Now it’s just poor taste without a point.

Ben Hoffman should know when to fold ’em. Maybe he did and this is his record company’s way of wrapping up his contract and trying to make whatever money remains to be made off his sabotaged Wheeler Walker Jr. persona.

Yes, releasing a Greatest Hits record and coming off a couple of the songs you left on the shelf feels like a way of moving on.

His first two albums were great, and if you have those, you don’t need the GH package. The career mis-step aside, Hoffman actually did something quite remarkable. He achieved success with a comedy album using an alt persona with no previous recording history in a day and age when an unknown artist getting an album to break has better odds of winning the power ball jackpot.
Having a hot big name producer behind him helped but he also showed some real chops, which indicated he’s probably been dabbling in country music for awhile and probably has all the same records we do in his collection.
The gig might be up for WWJ but kudos to Hoffman for pulling it off.
