Hank3 Complete Concert DVD to Benefit Happy Tails Humane
On Friday August 3rd, 2012, Hank Williams III played a benefit concert for Happy Tails Humane dubbed “One Big Wag” at Nashville’s Marathon Music Works. The event rose a whopping $18,000 for the middle Tennessee no-kill shelter, but the giving doesn’t stop there. Skeleton Crue had a complete film crew on site for the event, and now has put together a DVD of the complete concert that folks can purchase, with the proceeds going to Happy Tails.
“This has been I think our 4th show with them, and they’ve always stood up for me, accepting what I do in the country side and the rock side.” says Hank3. “I only work with a couple of charities for now, and Happy Tails is one of them. I really respect what they do, the effort they put into their jobs being a no kill animal shelter.”
Hank3 is known for going out of his way to help our furry friends, using his celebrity status to match strays to new owners through Facebook for example. He’s been known to pull over his tour bus if he sees a stray. “My dogs have been like family to me. My music and my dogs have always helped me through my darker hours,” Hank3 explained in an interview with SCM.
Skeleton Crue’s Complete DVD of the Happy Tales “One Big Wag” concert will be released later this month (check back for a link). In the meantime, you can watch the concert in full below. And please make sure to support Hank3, Happy Tails Humane, and Skeleton Crue for making this footage possible!
***UPDATE***UPDATE***UPDATE***UPDATE***
(12-23-12) – Skeleton Crue has finally made the Hank3 DVD available. It is FREE, but is ONLY available when you buy 3 Skeleton Crue T-Shirts for $39.99. Also the proceeds will NOT be going to Happy Tails Humane, but to another animal charity Humane Healings. “Kat Hitchcock, the woman responsible for the One Big Wag shows, is now with that company, so we feel that the proceeds should follow her,” says Skeleton Crue. “And 10% of all “III Pack” proceeds will be donated.”

I’m assuming at 2 hours this is only the country set. I’m buying it as soon as it’s available, about time we got a Hank 3 concert video that wasn’t on youtube.

It oughta be the full show on the DVD. I remember it being a relatively short set (for Hank3, at least). Mostly country and hellbilly, not much of the metal side. Good times though.Â

It’s for a good cause, so I hope many dvds will be sold, but as a concert-registration I think it’s pretty average. I loved the whole Hank III-experience this summer, and this looks just a little too clean-cut for my taste.
However, The Damn Band is the best country-band around, and i would love to have a good dvd. I hope III will produce one.

I’ve been trying to buy this as a Christmas gift for a friend. After not seeing it anywhere on the Skeleton Crue site, I asked about it on their Facebook page. My request was not only ignored, but deleted. I checked again today only to see that I have to buy 3 t-shirts from them at $15 each (some shirts not a part of the offer) and only then will they send you the “free” dvd and a “portion” of the proceeds will go to Happy Tails Humane. They don’t even specify how much.
I smell a rat.

I don’t have $50 for a DVD and three shirts I don’t want. Maybe if they sold only the DVD for $30 at most.

I was waiting to ship this DVD to Brazil, but i really don’t want those shirts and, as i could see on Facebook, this Humane Healings is not an animal charity organization, but a store for animal healing products. I’d like to know what Shelton thinks about it.

It isn’t a scam on the happy tails web site it says you order 3 shirts for 39.93 an 10 percent goes to the benefit and that really helps the dogs
