As 2019 comes to a close and we look forward to an new year, let us take a moment to remember the country and roots music greats we lost in this past year, from bona fide legends like Earl Thomas Conley, to those who left us too soon like Neal Casal, to Hall of Famers like Harold Bradley, and major influencers like Dick Dale.

But youngest brother Jim, who died of a heart attack on April 6th at the age of 81, and Chuck Glaser, who died Monday, June 10th at the age of 83, also contributed heavily to country music as songwriters and performers.
Mercury recording artist and #1 hit songwriter Nick Nixon has passed away, according to sources close to his family. He passed away around 4 PM Tuesday afternoon (7-30-13) after battling a lung disease. He leaves behind his wife Kim, and five children. The St. Louis, MO native penned the million-selling hit “The Teddy Bear Song” that became a #1 for Barbara Fairchild in March of 1973.
