Born & Raised Fest 2022 Offers INSANE Lineup

Even if you have to sell an internal organ to swing it, you still may want to consider how to get your ass to the Born & Raised Festival on September 16th, 17th, and 18th in Pryor, Oklahoma, just east of Tulsa in 2022. After experiencing the festival in 2021 on the updated and extensive Rocklahoma festival site, and seeing the lineup for this year, Born & Raised is quickly distinguishing itself as the Texas/Red Dirt-flavored independent country/Americana music festival of the year.
“This is the best festival I’ve ever been a part of,” Cody Jinks said last year closing the festival out.
If you want to read a review of the inaugural Born & Raised Festival in 2021 and what you can expect, CLICK HERE.
Along with a stacked list of headliners including Zach Bryan, Cody Jinks, Jamie Lin Wilson, Mike and the Moonpies, Randy Rogers Band, Wade Bowen, AND Josh Abbott Band, the undercard is a who’s who of cool up-and-coming artists that you want to be on your radar, from Joshua Ray Walker, to Riddy Arman, to Saving Country Music Album of the Year winner Charles Wesley Godwin … I mean, you just keep going through this lineup and discovering new names you want to see.
This is a festival that’s done their homework for sure, also making sure to include some of the names that always seem to be overlooked for big festivals like this such as Whitey Morgan and Kendell Marvel, and even Nick Shoulders.
And yes, at this point, Lynyrd Skynyrd is basically a tribute act with only one original member left. But you know when they’re up there ripping through “Free Bird,” you’ll be jamming along. Seriously, can we just skip the summer and go straight to September?
Offering ample camping options and plenty of on-site amenities and upsells, if you only have one or two festivals you can go to each year, this is one you should definitely consider, especially since it’s not in a “destination” spot, which so often racks up the cost of everything. Right in the middle of Red Dirt country and the Midwest, it’s worth the trek to.
Presale passes will be available beginning Friday, May 6th at 8am Central Time with the public on-sale commencing Monday, May 9th at 10am Central Time. For more information and to register for early access, go to bornandraisedfestival.com .

Looks like a solid line-up of “stars”… if only my wife and I could afford to go.
May 3, 2022 @ 6:44 pm
Skynyrd should have been at the top zack brian my ass
May 3, 2022 @ 8:38 am
Last year a lot of the artists had 30 minute sets which kinda sucked
Also if you plan on going get tickets that allow you to be close to the big stage or it’s not that great of an experience
May 3, 2022 @ 8:56 am
I agree, and that was my one big criticism about this fest. It seemed like sacrilege to have artists like Shane Smith and the Saints, Flatland Cavalry, and Jack Ingram out there, and only give them half an hour. I can understand that for maybe some of the early up-and-coming acts on side stages. But to me, the names people come to see should at least get 45 minutes, and they have three stages, so they should be able to facilitate this. But something tells me seeing the lineup, you’re still going to have some short sets. That’s just a symptom of having so many big names on the same day. It also means you’re just gonna miss some big names to see other big names.
May 3, 2022 @ 5:09 pm
These festivals are like buffets to me. You get to sample a little of everything, but don’t get the full meal experience. I’m a full meal kind of guy, but society in general is now in the buffet line with their short attention spans and TikTok videos. I think this mentality is leaking into the non festival concert experience too. Headliners that used to play 2 hours are now clocking an hour and a half at most.
May 4, 2022 @ 11:22 am
“Last year a lot of the artists had 30 minute sets”
which is about 35 more minutes of Margo Price than i could tolerate. Miss ten pounds of hype, in a five pound bag herself.
May 3, 2022 @ 8:50 am
Lynyrd Skynrd should not be a band anymore. They sound like a 2nd rate bar band. Their legacy would be better served if they gave them blessing to a tribute band.
May 3, 2022 @ 10:24 am
I love Skynyrd, and it pains me to say it, but the current lineup is a bastardization of the original. Gary Rossington is the only remaining founding/classic member. All other major contributors from the 60s-70s have either died or left the band. Might as well just rename the group The Rossington Band feat. Johnny Van Zant at this point.
May 3, 2022 @ 10:47 am
Their first two albums perfectly defined Southern Rock. Those and the Allman Bro’s Fillmore album was Southern Rock.
May 3, 2022 @ 3:17 pm
This is a great idea, but unfortunately at least 25 years too late
May 3, 2022 @ 9:00 am
Oklahoma is helping to Bring Back Country! Putting all these great artists together. I wish I could travel from Brazil to there to check it in person.
“This is the reason God made Oklahoma”!
Listening David Frizzel right now.
May 3, 2022 @ 11:05 am
Haha great classic country tune right there.
May 3, 2022 @ 11:11 am
disappointed no Turnpike. Can we make a trade and replace Skynyrd with Turnpike?
May 4, 2022 @ 10:02 am
Couldn’t agree more. Replace Skynyrd with Turnpike and this would be the festival of the year.
May 3, 2022 @ 9:03 am
I’m wishing it was its originally scheduled weekend from back in 2020 when I bought a ticket and booked a hotel room because I was looking forward to a great birthday weekend in Oklahoma and at a time when I could go.
It was moved to September last year which is the exact opposite time for as far as availability is concerned and it’s going to be the same weekend this year.
Not surprising mind you given that the announcement wasn’t made in February or March but still.
Meh.
May 3, 2022 @ 10:49 am
Inflation is through the roof and housing is almost non-existent, I won’t be going to festivals for the foreseeable future. All you trust fund kids have a blast though!
May 3, 2022 @ 11:08 am
Inflation is so bad that I don’t even have a “pot to piss in”, I have to go around and steal other people’s pots to piss in.
May 3, 2022 @ 1:08 pm
Really hate to see comments like this, and I feel like I’m going to be seeing more and more of them over the coming months. You have big festivals sprouting up all over the place, and consumers getting squeezed more than ever.
May 3, 2022 @ 1:27 pm
Yep. That’s true. I’ve got tickets to a couple festivals– one this month and the other is the following month. Travel to the second festival will cost a bit but I’ll get to see family while heading there.
And at the same time I’ve got a home improvement project and medical expenses coming up that are in the mid four-figure range…
But live music is my therapy.
May 4, 2022 @ 10:10 am
I know inflation is insane and everything is super expensive; but there’s still people out there making their own money that can afford a festival. Don’t put your bitterness on others because you’re struggling. I would sympathize more if you weren’t assuming only ‘trust fund’ kids can enjoy a festival (although I know certain festivals where that’s probably the vast majority).
On a more topical note, how is Zach Bryan headlining over some of the more established names on Friday? I get he’s super popular; but geez. Good luck following Mike and the Moonpies!
May 4, 2022 @ 10:19 am
Having attended this very same event last year, Zach Bryan deserves to headline, and the promoters have no other choice but to put him there. He stole the show last year, and I felt bad for William Clark Green and others that had to follow. I would agree that Mike and the Moonpies are better live, but Zach Bryan is a cultural phenomenon. Last year at Born & Raised is where I first experienced this. Also, Zach is also from right down the road, and so it’s a hometown crowd for sure. NOBODY will want to follow Zach.
May 9, 2022 @ 12:24 pm
Shit, I bought VIP passes and a camp site this morning, and I ain’t got a trust fund. I’ve busted my ass for every dollar. You’d be surprised how much money blue collar trades pay out, especially after you’ve gained some experience.
May 3, 2022 @ 11:14 am
They became their own cover band. Really slick if you think about it.
May 3, 2022 @ 2:49 pm
That festival lineup looks great. Since I am again attending Mile 0 Fest in Key West, I will probably pass but we will see as the summer goes on. Glad to see more choices to see some amazing artists.
May 3, 2022 @ 4:01 pm
HEY! DAWNCHU MAKE FUN OF LYNYRD SKYNYRD
May 3, 2022 @ 7:10 pm
i Love Lynyrd Skynyrd & .38 Special, Run Run Rudolph, off of their Christmas album.
my fav. version.
May 3, 2022 @ 8:53 pm
You guys… I’m going to see my favorite country artist Zach Bryan headline on the first night. Do you, like, think I should go early to see some of those other bands opening for him? Are any of them good? TY. 😗
May 4, 2022 @ 10:16 am
All the bands playing Friday are killer. I’ve never seen Tim Montana or Kendell Marvel live before, but can vouch for their music. Everyone else I have seen live, and they’re all worth getting there early for, especially Mike and the Moonpies, who are the greatest live country band out there. It’s worth taking a day off of work. Friday has more talent that some entire festivals.
May 4, 2022 @ 12:15 pm
Absolutely. At the very least go check out Mike and the Moonpies and American Aquarium. Mike and the Moonpies will likely steal the show.
May 5, 2022 @ 2:24 am
Pretty cool to see another one of these fests not dominated by the love song segment of Texas country with Wade, Randy, guys named Cody and Coe and Cole, etc. Mile 0 and steamboat used to have some amazing acts and slowly they went to heavy dominance with this stuff.
May 6, 2022 @ 9:29 am
Instead of Stagecoach in CA, it’s Born & Raised in OK – and yes, it’s the same company behind both festivals. Too corporate for me! So, nope – I rather go see the artists in clubs when they come through town.
May 6, 2022 @ 10:16 am
I will say this. When they first announced Born & Raised, I was very leery of this because of AEG’s involvement, and wrote at length about it:
https://www.savingcountrymusic.com/why-i-have-mixed-feelings-about-the-born-raised-festival/
However, having attended the first year, and talked to artists and their managers, others involved in the operation, saw how they had partnered with local entities and promoters, were paying artists well, and tired to keep it as local as possible while backstopping the production with their big coffers, I personally am not worried about who is behind this festival any more. Sure, I still would prefer a local or fully independent promoter. But a lot of those folks are benefiting from this as well. This is a partnership that AEG is just one part of.
All that said, support your local venues and festivals. And your decision is not a bad option.
This is no Stagecoach though.
May 9, 2022 @ 12:21 pm
I’m so excited about this. After not being able to get tickets for Turnpike @ Cains, this takes away some of the sting. Got my tickets and camp site this morning, can’t wait.
